Getting Opera is easy —

• Go to the Opera Download page:
  • At the Website www.opera.com, click "Download"
    
  • Or go directly to the Download page:  Opera Download

• Pick your Java Option:
  • Non-Java, the default,is probably fine

• Choose a download location:
  • I recommend against the default, Simtel,
       & usually use one of the Western European sites

• Click the "Download Now" button.

Okay, you clicked the "Download Now" button; now what?

Mostly, it depends on your current browser
      & your operating system (OS).

In general, you must tell them (the browser & OS) to:

• Save, not open, the file
• Pick an appropriate spot on your hard disk
• Give the final go-ahead

Installing Opera is as straightforward as downloading it:

• Go to directory (Folder)
     where you just saved the Opera Installer.

• Run it. (Double click on the file, or use the keyboard).

• Answer the 6 easy questions. — About 7 clicks.

Running Opera the First Time —
     You will have to make some choices:

• Welcome screen
  • Advertising Choices:  Google or generic
  • Buy a license for $39 (normal price)

• 2nd setup screen
  • Skin preference:  (Opera or Windows)
  • Icon size:  (60% – 140%)
  • Toolbar setup:  (Standard or Minimal)

Already, you are making choices that affect legibility.
