Maybe it's just that this book is exactly what I need at this point in my Linux "career", but I think this is one of the best Linux books ever written.  Let me tell you why, & why you should listen to me. 

Although I have been into computers since college in the sixties, I am relatively new to Linux - about 2 years; furthermore, I have only used the Linux command line (i.e. "DOS-box" equivalent) until now. 

My goal has been to become, once again, Microsoft® free.  Therefore my next step is the Linux desktop. 

This is the perfect book for that transition.
